Trump, who took the podium at the General Assembly for the first time after winning the US presidential election in 2016, also said that UN ‘sovereign nations’ must be basis of world order.
Trump spoke at the UNGA meeting just after Brazil’s Michel Temer, presenting his message to the world while also pushing for his nationalist «America First» agenda.
At a first UN appearance on Monday, Trump had vowed to push for reform at the world body that he once disparaged as a «club» where «people get together, talk and have a good time.
