Austin360 reported on Tuesday that so far, only two fans have inquired about getting their money back just days before the festival’s first weekend of music.
Law enforcement officials said this week that they were doing everything they could to assure fans that their safety was of the utmost importance.
«As you can imagine, I’m not going to go into specifics of what you will see or what you will not see,» interim police chief Brian Manley told the Austin American-Statesman on Monday. «We will have plenty of officers that will be visible, but we will also have plenty that will not be visible, strategically placed, that will only come out if necessary to address any specific incidents.»
Austin resident Lauren Clary said Tuesday that she is still planning on attending the festival even after the events in Las Vegas.
«I think with the tragedy that happened this past weekend, we have a bigger need for a fun, festival like ACL to bring us together in hard times,» Clary told Chron.com. «Music does that. It brings out people from all walks of the earth with one love in common.»
About 75,000 people attend the festival daily, according to Austin360. Each weekend of the festival runs from Friday until Sunday.
