Billionaire mega-donor Tom Steyer wrote a letter to Democrats on Wednesday asking that if they take control of congress in 2018, that they impeach President Trump.
The New York Times says that in his letter, Steyer calls Trump a “clear and present danger to the republic.»
He went on to say “I hope you will make your position clear so that Democratic voters who are under constant attack by this administration, know their elected representatives have the patriotism and political courage to stand up and take action.”
There has even been some speculation about Steyer — who has spent over $91 million in support of democrats in the last election cycle — running against Democratic California Senator Dianne Feinstein.
Feinstein is seeking re-election next year but stunned a lot of Democrats after saying that Trump had an opportunity to be a good president.
Steyer, is not someone Democrats can ignore, according to the Times, he is the single biggest liberal donor in the last two federal elections.
