A 25-year-old Paw man was killed, police said.
WAVERLY TOWNSHIP, MI — Police have identified a man who was struck and killed while walking his dog on M-43, the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office reports.
The crash happened in the early morning of Monday, Oct. 30, on M-43 between 37th and 40th Streets in Van Buren County’s Waverly Township, which is north of Paw Paw.
Keaton Dorman, 25, of Paw Paw, was the pedestrian victim killed, police said.
A concerned citizen saw a dog walking up and down the road and found the victim, Van Buren County Sgt. Casey Davis said.
Deputies determined the victim left his residence on Sunday evening about 11:30 p.m. walking his dog east on M-43.
Police are investigating the crash as a hit-and-run that occurred between midnight and 8:30 a.m.

Deputies determined the suspect vehicle appears to be a Ford Model, tan in Color.
Police said further information on the suspect vehicle is to be released at a later date and time.
The dog was to be returned to the victim’s family, police have said.
Van Buren Emergency Services, Paw Quick Response, Michigan State Police (Paw Paw), Michigan State Police Accident Reconstruction, Van Buren County Detective Bureau, Van Buren Victim Services Unit assisted the sheriff’s office.
