Miles Teller’s upcoming film “Thank You for Your Service” appears like it might be the next great war movie.
The plot of the film:
War films are very popular among the American moviegoing audience, and for good reason. People like seeing heroics play out on the big screen, especially true stories. There are countless war movies that focus on the action, but very few that focus on PTSD and the struggles of returning veterans. The only two that quickly jump out to me are “American Sniper” and “Brothers.”
“Thank You for Your Service” looks like it’s almost going to be exclusively about PTSD. The tougher and more difficult it is to sit through this movie, the better I think it’ll be. The American public is used to watching the American military blow apart the bad guys, but we rarely get to see the much dark reality for many veterans upon returning home.
This movie is scheduled to be released October 27.
