A person has been pinned under a car in Westford.
A woman has died after a crash in a supermarket parking lot in Westford on Thurday, officials confirm.
The incident happened in near Market Basket at Cornerstone Square, which is located near the intersection of Route 110 and Boston Road at Interstate 495 Exit 32.
The preliminary investigation suggests that at a female in her 50s was at the back of her vehicle in the parking lot when a second vehicle, which was parking, hit the woman’s car, causing it to roll backwards pinning her underneath, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Westford Chief of Police Thomas McEnaney said.
The victim’s name was not released.
The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene, officials said.
«We are so shocked and saddened that this happened. Our hearts go out to her family and our thoughts and prayers are with them, a feeling shared by everyone in our Westford store,» Market Basket said in a statement.
The crash remains under investigation.
