She says company asked to have video removed which showed smartphone on Apple’s campus ahead of launch.
An engineer who helped work on the iPhone X was reportedly fired by Apple after his daughter posted a YouTube video showing off the smartphone before launch.
Last week, YouTube user Brooke Amelia Peterson posted a video which included a trip to Apple’s campus in Cupertino, Calif., where she said her father worked as a radio frequency engineer.
During the video, Peterson is shown holding the iPhone X and demonstrating use of the touchscreen and other videos.
In a subsequent video published Sunday, Peterson said she removed the video at Apple’s request. «I have no idea how my video got so much attention considering how many other iPhone x videos there are out there from other Youtubers,» said Peterson.

Apple did not respond to a request for comment. A brief clip from the video appears to identify her father as Ken Bauer, described as an «RF guy» on a profile found in LinkedIn. Bauer did not respond to a LinkedIn inmail asking whether he was the engineer who lost his job.
The iPhone X launches on November 3. Last Friday, Apple opened up preorders for the device, which starts at $999.
