More than 400 people died in Iran after a 7.3-magnitude earthquake shook the Iran-Iraq border on Sunday night.
The quake — with an epicenter in the Kurdistan region of Iraq — triggered landslides, produced more than 100 aftershocks, and heavily impacted the region where houses are made of mud bricks, NBC News and Reuters reported.
In Iran, at least 70,000 people were reportedly in need of emergency shelter.
