Bungie reveals the Destiny 2 season 2 clan rewards, which include benefits such as a chance to receive more Mercury tokens and better rewards for defeating Vex.
Today was a big day for Destiny 2 players as not only was the Curse of Osiris DLC expansion released, but a brand new clan season has also begun in the game. And with a new clan season comes brand new clan rewards for players to unlock.
By being part of a Destiny 2 clan, players can work as a collective to unlock various rewards and bonuses for themselves and their fellow clanmates. For Destiny 2 Season 2 these rewards and objectives include:
Unlocking each of the Destiny 2 Season 2 clan rewards is a fairly straightforward process. Just like in the first season of the game, players will be given a weekly clan milestone that challenges them to complete objectives (including completing Crucible matches) in order to earn clan XP.
Should members of a clan earn enough XP then their clan will level up and these Season 2 rewards are unlocked at each level. Given that clan XP is earned through normal play, players shouldn’t have to go out of their way to help their clan and earn these rewards.
This season’s rewards seem like a good mix of bonuses that will benefit vanilla Destiny 2 players and bonuses that will help those who have chosen to get the Curse of Osiris DLC. It seems that Bungie has purposefully alternated the rewards so that each level will benefit either vanilla Destiny 2 or Curse of Osiris DLC players. This way, no one has to wait too long to reap the benefits of earning clan XP.
Bungie may also think that by putting Curse of Osiris DLC bonuses in the clan rewards list, vanilla players may be encouraged to purchase the expansion. After all, one of the best parts of Destiny 2 is playing with friends and fellow clan members and now there’s a Season 2 reward unlock specifically for exploring Mercury in Curse of Osiris. Vanilla Destiny 2 players may well purchase the DLC just to make the most of clan membership and enjoy the rewards that they and their teammates have unlocked.
In any case, the new season gives players yet another reason to join a Destiny 2 clan and be an active participant in the clan progression system. The season will last for several months as season three will likely begin when the next Destiny 2 DLC is released in spring 2018.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
