As announced by the Honor last week, the company today unveiled the Honor 9 Lite at an event in China. The smartphone is a “lite” variant of the Honor 9 smartphone that the company had announced in June this year. For a “lite” device, the Honor 9 Lite is certainly quite impressive. It features an 18:9 Full HD+ display and comes with dual cameras both at the back as well as the front. The smartphone is powered by Huawei’s in-house developed Kirin 659 mid-range SoC, the same chipset that powers the Enjoy 7s, Mate 10 Lite, Maimang 6, Nova 2i, Honor 9i, and the Honor 7X. In terms of software, the latest from Honor will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box.
In China, the Honor 9 Lite will be going on sale starting December 26 th. While no specific release dates have been confirmed by Honor yet, it did say that the smartphone will launch in India, Russia, and the UK in 2018. Prices start at 1,199 yuan (Rs.11,700 approx.) for the 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage and go up to 1,499 yuan for the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB onboard storage. Color options include Navy Blue, Magic Nightfall, Pearl White, and Seagull Gray.
