Dec. 28 (UPI) — A man who attempted a thoughtful gift for his girlfriend ended up confusing the Internet by sewing her dog’s image onto a pillow.
Johnny Hanly posted on Reddit that his girlfriend misses her dog constantly since she moved away for college, so he decided to make her a pillow modeled after the canine, Luke, for Christmas.
Hanly had a photo of Luke printed onto some fabric and sewed it into a pillow, but he soon found others looking upon his creation had some trouble understanding what they were seeing.
«Honestly, I thought it looked good the entire time! I only started to doubt myself after I showed my friends and family the completed project,» Hanly told The Dodo . «I think since I was staring at the source image for hours while stitching it, I knew what position he was sitting in, so it didn’t look weird to me. However, after seeing everyone’s reactions to it, I can totally see why they think it looks like a weird pretzel monster.»
Luckily, he said, his girlfriend wasn’t bothered by the pillow’s unusual shape.
«She loves it!» Hanly said.
