At 10:30 p.m., police responded to an incident on the 5500 block of Proctor where a male in his 50s had been hit by a vehicle while on the sidewalk.
The incident was not a hit-and-run. The driver, a 40-year-old male, said he lost control of his vehicle — a white Toyota 4-Runner — while driving eastbound on McGraw. The car steered onto the sidewalk and he subsequently hit the victim, who was taken to a local hospital by medics and pronounced dead on arrival.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
