“Samsung’s new Galaxy smartphone will come with curved edges on all four sides”
Samsung has recently been in the news a lot lately, with the foldable Galaxy X getting listed on its support page and rumours of the Galaxy S9 and S9+ arriving early in January. Now, thanks to a patent uncovered by LetsGoDigital, it appears that the brand is working on a radical new Galaxy smartphone with a true blue all display front.
Samsung has filed a new patent that indicates a truly bezel-less phone. Unlike current bezel-less devices which feature some amount of bezel at the top or bottom, Samsung’s upcoming flagship will feature an all display front. From LetsGoDigital ‘s concept image, we can see that the brand is extending its customary dual curved edges to all four sides. The image also indicates that Samsung will replace the physical power and volumes buttons with virtual ones. Image credit: Benjamin Geskin
It is also believed that the brand might have finally perfected the under-display fingerprint scanner, which might also make an appearance on this upcoming smartphone. At the same time, the front camera, earpiece and sensors are also said to go under the glass. While this all might sound too good to be true, knowing how Samsung has already filed a patent for the same and its track record for innovation, we can prepare ourselves for yet another game-changing device from the brand.
Speaking of bezel-less phones, earlier this week, a mock concept from famed tipster Benjamin Geskin gave us an insight into what the upcoming Galaxy S9 might look like. And from the looks of it, the brand seem to have achieved a screen to body ratio of over 90 percent. However, it’s worth mentioning that nothing has been confirmed regarding Samsung’s upcoming devices as of now.
