The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) highlight bezel-less Infinity displays and dual front-facing cameras, among other things.
Samsung earlier this week announced the Galaxy A8 (2018) and A8+ (2018) smartphones for South Korea. The newest bezel-less devices bring the company’s Infinity Display, previously seen on high-end Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 smartphones, down to the mid-range segment. The phones were announced without pricing and availability, but we now have information on both for Vietnam.
The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) have been announced in Vietnam priced at VND 10,990,000 (approx Rs 31,000) and VND 13,490,000 (approx Rs 38,000), respectively and are set to go on sale in the country starting January 6 2018. While these prices are official for Vietnam, it was previously reported that the phones could be priced at 34990 Rubles and 37,990 Rubles, respectively in Russia. In India, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) could be ‘priced between Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000, although this hasn’t been confirmed.
Samsung is expected to showcase the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) at CES in January after which they will go on sale in other markets including India. While several markets can expect the phones to go on sale in January, they may arrive in India some time in March going by how the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) were launched this year.

The Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) not only highlight edge-to-edge Infinity displays, but are also the first smartphone in the Galaxy A series to sport dual front camera, one 16-megapixel sensor and one 8-megappixel sensor both with f/1.9 aperture and Live Focus. The A8 (2018) sports a 5.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED (1080×2220) display, while the A8+ (2018) comes with a larger 6.0-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, both featuring 18.5:9 aspect ratios.
Both the smartphones run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and are powered by a 2.2GHz octa-core processor. The Galaxy A8 houses a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy A8+ sees a 3500mAh battery inside. The former is offered with 4GB of RAMa while the latter comes in a choice of 4GB and 6GB of RAM. When they go on sale, both the phones will be offered in a choice of 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD card and will be available in Black, Gold, Blue and Orchid Grey colour options.
