Samsung today announced the new Notebook 9 Pen and three new versions of the Notebook 9 (2018). The new notebooks from Samsung are portable productivity powerhouses with high-quality performance and long battery life.
The new Notebook 9 Pen is a 2-in-1 PC with a full metal construction and a 360-degree hinge that makes it easy for users to convert to a tablet when needed. The built-in S Pen allows users to doodle, write, sketch, paint, and more. Unlike a few rivals, the S Pen doesn’t need to be charged and is designed for immediate use. It can recognize up to 4,096 levels of pressure and has a fine 0.7mm tip for higher precision. It features a 13.3” Samsung RealView touch-enabled display with 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution and 95% sRGB coverage. It features an 8 th Gen Intel Core i7 processor with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD storage.
Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) comes in two screen sizes – 13.3” and 15”. Weighting in at 2.84 pounds and measuring 15.4mm thin, Samsung claims the Notebook 9 (2018) is among the lightest and thinnest notebooks in its class. The bezels surrounding the display are quite thin as well. Inside the metal body, Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) features a large 75Wh Hexacell battery, the largest that Samsung has placed inside a notebook yet. Fast charging is supported too, which means you won’t need to wait very long for the battery to be fully charged. In terms of specs, the Notebook 9 (2018) models feature Samsung RealView Full HD displays, an 8 th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 16GB DDR4 memory, and up to 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD storage. The 15” model can also be configured with NVIDIA GeForce MX150 discrete graphics featuring 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM.
All the new notebooks announced by Samsung today feature a backlit keyboard, precision touchpad, and a fingerprint sensor. They will be showcased by Samsung at CES 2018 in Las Vegas next month. Samsung will begin selling the new notebooks in South Korea starting this month, while other markets will need to wait until the first quarter of next year.
