After weeks of speculation, HMD Global has taken the wraps off the second generation Nokia 6. The smartphone has been launched in China at a starting price of CNY 1499 (roughly RS 14,600). There is no information as of now regarding the Nokia 6 (2018)’s global rollout. However, the smartphone is expected to come to India in the coming months. The Nokia 6 (2018) is more or less an iterative upgrade that comes with more powerful internals, a refined design and flagship features like OZO audio and dual-sight video.
The Nokia 6 (2018) has been launched in China in two variants — one with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage for CNY 1499 (approximately Rs 14,600) and one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage for CNY 1699 (approximately Rs 16,600). The smartphone is set to go on sale in China on January 10. E-retailer Suning has already started accepting pre-orders for the smartphone.

The biggest cause of complain with the 2017 Nokia 6 was the under-powered Snapdragon 430 processor. HMD Global seems to have taken that criticism to heart and equipped the 2018 variant with a much more sensible Snapdragon 630 chipset clocked at 2.2 GHz. Additionally, the Nokia 6 (2018) comes with 4GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage expandable via a microSD card (of up to 128GB), a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support and a 5.5-inch FullHD LCD display.
On the imaging front, the Nokia 6 (2018) comes with a 16MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, an aperture of f/2.0 and a dual-tone LED flash. There is an 8MP sensor on the front with an aperture of f/2.0. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box with an update to Android 8.0 Oreo promised in the near future.
