“The Sandstone White OnePlus 5T will be available only in the 8GB + 128GB variant”
The OnePlus 5T ( review) was unveiled to the world just a couple of months ago. Since then, the brand has launched several special editions of the device, including the Star Wars Limited Edition and Lava Red Edition, with the latter expected to launch in India on January 26th. There were also rumours about a special Kobe Bryant edition of the device. Now, the brand has taken a leaf out of the past and revived the classic Sandstone finish from OnePlus One ( review) and OnePlus 2 ( review).
Unlike the grey finish of previous Sandstone models, the OnePlus 5T is available only in a Sandstone White hue. It features a red alert slider that’s reminiscent of the Star Wars edition, and black power and volume buttons. As for the spec sheet, the device will only be made available in the higher end model, which means it will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
To recap, the OnePlus 5T ships with a 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED display panel with FHD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. There is a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer on the top for protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 835 SoC and boots the Android Nougat-based Oxygen OS, with an update to Oreo expected soon. Moving on to the camera department, the smartphone comes with dual cameras on the rear comprising of a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel module, accompanied by dual tone LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. For selfies and video calling, the handset gets a 16-megapixel shooter on the front. On the power front, the device gets a 3,300mAh battery equipped with Dash Charging technology.
The Sandstone White variant of the device will go on sale in US starting January 9th and will be priced the same as regular variant – $599. In India, the 8GB OnePlus 5T is priced at Rs 37,999, so we can expect it to cost the same if and when it lands in the country.
