Pitt coach snaps back at Louisville basketball fans with '$100,000' crack

«At least we didn’t pay our players $100,000,» Kevin Stallings was caught saying.

No question, Louisville basketball fans have heard worse when it comes to the FBI investigation that led to the firing of Rick Pitino and dismissal of star recruit Brian Bowen.
Just probably not from an opposing coach.
But that was the line from Pitt’s Kevin Stallings on Tuesday night, in the heat of battle, as Cardinals fans were heckling Stallings’ players and he responded to one in particular.

The FBI investigation alleged that Louisville paid Bowen $100,000 to commit.
Louisville won the game, 77-51, and Stallings was asked about his comments.
«Somebody said something bad about my players, and so I’m just going to stick up for my players,» Stallings told reporters . «Probably said the wrong thing, but I’m not going to let people talk crap about my players. We’re down, the game’s over with, you don’t need to insult kids who are out there trying to fight hard and do their best.
«Like I said, I probably should have chosen some different words, but I’m not going to let people take shots at our players.»
