Far Cry 5’s system requirements have been revealed by Ubisoft, And as with previous games in the series, the PC edition will also offer highly customizable graphics options, as well as a few bonuses.
With the fifth entry in the main Far Cry series only a couple of months away from launch, Ubisoft has decided to reveal the amount of horsepower PC players will need on their systems to run the game at respectable frame rates, along with a few settings that are exclusive to the platform.
As usual with most titles, Far Cry 5 will try to auto-detect and set the resolution as well as a graphics preset that is most suited to a system. But, for those of us who want to tinker with the settings, there will be a slew of options available as well, accompanied by a benchmark tool and even a video memory usage meter. Also on hand will be various aspect ratio options, a field of view slider, optional framerate caps, and resolution scaling support.
Ubisoft has gone all out on the system requirement specifics as well, from showcasing PC configurations required to run the game at 720p on low graphics, all the way up to what is needed to play the game on 4K resolution with high/ultra settings at 60fps:
If the previous games are anything to go by, Far Cry 5’s PC version won’t suffer from any serious issues, but we will have to wait until its launch to see how the game fairs, and if it will allow players to take down the doomsday cultists in Hope County with some smooth framerates.
As Ubisoft scrapped Far Cry 5’s original February 27 release date saying the developer needs some more time to make additional improvements, the game is now slated for launch on March 27.
