Another man shot the victim when he saw him reach for something, police say.
A man was fatally shot while riding his bike early Sunday (Feb. 25) in Treme, the New Orleans Police Department said.
The man was riding his bike with another man along the 1000 block of North Dorgenois Street around 3:20 a.m., according to an NOPD spokesman.
The other man saw the bicyclist reach for something and shot him, police said. The shooter then drove him to University Medical Center.
The victim later died, and the man who shot him turned himself in at the NOPD First District Station.
In a second report sent by NOPD Sunday morning, police said the victim and the alleged shooter were both «riding in a vehicle» when the shooting occurred.
