Xiaomi is planning to be the star of the smartwatch industry as well. The company on Monday announces a new smartwatch called the Amazfit Bip with the aim to take on Apple watch — which for sure is one tough challenge for Xiaomi. The key highlight of the new Xiaomi Amazfit Bip smartwatch is its battery set up. The watch — as the company claims — delivers around 45-day of battery life reducing the burden of refilling the battery every now and then.
The new Xiaomi Amazfit Bip comes with constant GPS and an LTE support — and unlike most of the other smartwatches, it doesn’t discharge every 30 hours or so. Xiaomi’s new smartwatch weighs around 31 grams — this makes it one of the lightweight smartwatches in the market currently.
The smartwatch sports a polycarbonate body. However, the device, as reported by GSMArena is less durable than a metal alloy hence making it prone to scratching. The key highlight of the smartwatch — as mentioned earlier is its battery. Amazfit Bip is backed by a 190 mAh battery which the company claims to deliver almost 45-day battery life.

Amazfit Bip comes with a 1.28-inch transflective colour display which is additionally protected with a 2.5D layer of Gorilla Glass 3. The display of the smartwatch is said to be incredibly battery efficient and works pretty well under bright sunlight. However, this is said to be achievable only if the user uses the Xiaomi watch with an always on time display and running sleep and motion monitoring in the background.
The new Xiaomi smartwatch comes equipped with a PPG heart rate sensor, a triaxial acceleration sensor, a geomagnetic sensor, barometric pressure sensor and GPS + GLONASS support. It also comes with an IP68 rating which makes the smartwatch a great companion while running, walking or even cycling, but isn’t water resistant. The Bip runs on a custom Xiaomi-made OS and doesn’t come with any additional apps.
The new Xiaomi Amazfit Bip is launched in the US and is available starting today on Amazfit.com for $99. The smartwatch comes in four colours — Onyx Black, White Cloud, Kokoda Green and Cinnabar Red.
