SPARTA TOWNSHIP, MI — A 34-year-old driver who caused a crash that killed his passenger, a mother of six, has pleaded guilty to drunken driving causing death.
Ralph Reichard Jr. of Newaygo entered pleas Wednesday, March 7 to four counts — operating while intoxicated causing death, operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, operating while license suspended causing death and operating while license suspended causing serious injury.
He was driving a car about 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 25 on Sparta Avenue NW near Ball Creek Road when it crossed the center line and crashed into an SUV.
Reichard’s passenger, 39-year-old Christina Domina-Kent, died in the collision.
Reichard will be sentenced April 5.
As part of a plea agreement, a judge indicated he would not go higher than a 75-month minimum for Reichard’s expected prison sentence.
