Police are saying a fire that substantially damaged two mobile homes in Allendale Monday is suspicious.
ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, MI — Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is reporting a fire that substantially damaged two mobile homes in Allendale Township on Monday is suspicious.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Detective Jake Sparks said although the cause of the fire has yet to be determined, it is being investigated as suspicious.
Allendale Fire Chief Mike Keefe said about 10:50 a.m. on March 5 firefighters were dispatched to an Allendale Meadows fire on the 11000 block of Sugar Loaf Avenue.
He said the fire started in a shed and spread to two mobile homes in the area.
Sparks said the two mobile homes and shed suffered substantial loss and at least one of the mobile homes is uninhabitable.
The fire was knocked down by early afternoon and all units were cleared by 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

No injuries were reported.
An Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office detective and Michigan State Police are still investigating the fire. Sparks said law enforcement hope to have more information available soon.
