Samsung Galaxy J8 (2018) with the model number SM-J800FN has been spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance to receive the Wi-Fi certification. Eventually, there are expectations for the smartphone to be unveiled soon.
Last month, a leaked benchmark listing revealed the specifications of the alleged Galaxy J8 (2018). Now, a device will with the model number SM-J800FN has been spotted at the Wi-Fi Alliance to receive the Wi-Fi certification. From the naming pattern followed by Samsung, this device is believed to be the Galaxy J8 (2018). As it is awaiting the Wi-Fi certification, it is believed that the smartphone could be unveiled soon.
The Galaxy J8 (2018) is said to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. Otherwise, none of the other details of this smartphone are known for now from the Wi-Fi certification. However, the Geekbench listing revealed the key specifications we can expect from the Galaxy J8 (2018). Going by the same, the smartphone is believed to get the power from Samsung’s Exynos 7870 SoC, which works in conjunction with 3GB RAM.
While the other details of the alleged Galaxy J8 (2018) are scarce, there are speculations that the device could arrive with an Infinity Display panel just like the Galaxy A8 (2018). Reports suggest that the Galaxy J8+ (2018) could be in line with the Galaxy A8+ (2018). Adding more credibility to these claims, a device with the model number SM-J805G surfaced online and it is believed to be the Galaxy J8+ (2018). Notably, this smartphone is also said to use the Exynos 7870 processor but the RAM capacity is tipped to be bumped up to 4GB RAM.
If this happens to be true and the Galaxy J8 (2018) duo arrive with Infinity Displays, then Samsung will have smartphones with the Infinity Displays at various price points. To be specific, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are in the premium market segment and Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) are in the upper mid-range market segment. The upper budget market segment will be occupied by the rumored Galaxy J8 (2018) and Galaxy J8+ (2018).
While none of these aspects are officially confirmed by Samsung, one thing that appears to be certain is that Samsung is trying to tackle the increasing competition from the Chinese manufacturers with advanced offerings at different price points.
