‘Likely fatalities’ involved…
A U. S. military helicopter crashed Thursday in western Iraq near the border with Syria, defense officials said.
The helicopter had seven personnel on board but was not on a combat mission, CNN reported. Rescue teams are being dispatched to the site.
Early reports indicate the HH-60 Black Hawk variant helicopter did not take enemy fire, but it’s still unclear what caused the crash.
