While the GPS variant has been on sale in India for quite some time now, the GPS + Cellular variant will be launched in India next month. At least initially, the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) variant will be available only from Reliance Jio and Airtel.
The Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) variant will be available in India on Jio.com. Jio Stores, Reliance Digital outlets, and the Airtel website starting May 4 th. It will be available for purchase from both Reliance and Airtel starting May 11. Exact pricing hasn’t been revealed just, so we will need to wait a few more days for Apple to confirm the India pricing of the Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) variant. The GPS-only variant of Apple Watch Series 3 is priced at Rs.32,380 in India, while the Nike+ band variant costs Rs.32,470.
Since the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) uses a built-in eSIM, Reliance Jio has announced the JioEverywhereConnect service, which will allow Jio subscribers to use the same number on their iPhone and Apple Watch. No additional charges will apply for this service. Jio subscribers who pre-order the Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) will be guaranteed first day delivery.
The Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) variant allows users to make calls directly with the watch, without having to carry their iPhone with them. It is powered by the powerful Apple S3 dual-core SoC, which enables Siri to speak using the built-in speaker. The Watch Series 3 also includes a new custom W2 wireless chip with 85% faster Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and 50% higher power efficiency. A barometric altimeter is present as well, helping the Apple Watch Series 3 to track activity, flights climbed and outdoor workouts, including elevation gain. The smartwatch is compatible with iPhone 6 or newer models running iOS 11+.
