Nick Bawden played in five games as a quarterback (two starts) in his freshman season at SDSU
With the 237th overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions chose fullback Nick Bawden from San Diego State in the seventh round.
Bawden, 6 feet 2 and 245 pounds, was projected as a sixth- or seventh-round pick by NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein .
Over the past two years, Bawden cleared the way for 2,000-yard rushers in consecutive seasons: Rashaad Penny (2017) and Donnel Pumphrey (2016). Penny was the 27th overall pick by the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday.
Bawden caught 15 passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in 2017, and 15 passes for 137 yards in 2016.
