White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was grilled on Wednesday over President Donald Trump ‘s recent remarks that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is “very honorable.”
As Trump spoke to French President Emmanuel Macron yesterday about his efforts to set up diplomatic talks with North Korea, he referred to the North Korean tyrant as “very open” and “very honorable.” It goes without saying, but this is quite a departure from the days where Trump traded insults with Kim and threatened North Korea for its international aggression.
When CBS’ Major Garrett brought up Trump’s latest comments in today’s White House press briefing, he asked Sanders how Trump could be complimentary to Kim when his regime murdered Otto Warmbier and regularly commits crimes against humanity––something the president denounced North Korea for mere months ago.
