Detroit police are investigating a shooting on the city’s northwest side after a man was shot while walking his dog Saturday morning.
Deputies responded to the scene at 8:15 a.m. in the 21000 block of Stoepel, off Eight Mile Road and Livernois Avenue.
Police said the 40-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his hand, but doesn’t know how it happened.
The man told police he was walking his dog when he heard gunshots and felt the pain. Police took the man to a hospital.
The dog was not injured in the incident.
