In a hastily-deleted video teaser on Facebook India, OnePlus teased a tie-in with the Infinity War movie. Is a OnePlus 6 Avengers limited edition incoming?
Thankfully, seeing as this is the internet, someone ripped it and posted it to YouTube.
You can see the OnePlus logo switching between The Avengers’ logo before the worldwide release date for Infinity War appears on screen to close the clip.
That date, in case you were wondering, is April 27.
Does this mean we’ll see an announcement in the next three weeks? Anything thereafter would be a little belated, right?
Judging by OnePlus’ ramping up of the teasers and official images in the last week, we’d say news of an official launch date is imminent.
Last week we learned the device will have a display ‘notch’ and received a rather ham-fisted explanation as to why.
Today CEO Pete Lau confirmed the device will have a Snapdragon 845 processor, which will be joined by a version offering 8GB of RAM and a whopping 256GB of storage.
If there is an Avengers Edition, it would follow the sparsely available Star Wars: The Last Jedi edition which went on sale in a limited number of territories.
Only India and parts of Scandinavia were gifted the opportunity to buy that limited edition handset, so let’s hope OnePlus is more liberal with the release plans this time around.
