The attack on Syria came from multiple directions as the coalition launched missiles from warships in the Red Sea, the Mediterranean Sea and the Persian Gulf while a pair of American B-1 Lancer conventional bombers and French and British fighters struck from the air, said Marine Lt. Gen. Kenneth McKenzie, the director of the Joint Staff.
