Microsoft has finally brought the iTunes to the Windows Store. The iTunes app is already available in the Windows store. It will replace the desktop app that can be downloaded and installed from the Apple Site.
iTunes has been central to my media experience on the MacBook. Ever since I switched from a Windows laptop I have been finding solace in the iTunes (never thought of experiencing iTunes on Windows). The deal got sweeter with the Apple Music subscription and the super cool radio stations that Apple has to offer. Nearly a year ago Microsoft had revealed that they will be bringing the iTunes to the Windows store. The launch was supposed to happen by the end of 2017 but Microsoft overshot the deadline and has released the iTunes now.
The iTunes is now available in the Windows store and this means that the Windows 10 S users will finally be able to use iTunes. The software will be updated via the Microsoft Store. It is also worth mentioning that the new iTunes app is identical to the desktop version that was available online. Please note that if you download the Windows Store version the data will automatically be migrated from your desktop version to the new version.
The iTunes app is available in the Microsoft Store. That apart you can also subscribe to the Apple Music Free for three months and access 45 million songs that can be downloaded offline. The iTunes has been the most searched app on the Windows Store.
Needless to say it the new iTunes app on the Microsoft Store won’t matter for most of us. The reason being that the desktop app is identical and equally capable as the one on the app store. This brings me to the next part, I am pretty sure that Microsoft had to bring the iTunes app for Windows 10 S users since they couldn’t sideload the same from the official website. Otherwise, the Windows 10 S users would have been left in a lurch with no options to sync their iPhones or other iOS devices with the Windows laptop. Microsoft did the same earlier and brought the Spotify desktop app to the Windows Store.
