OnePlus is all set to launch its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 6 in London on May 16. The India launch of the OnePlus 6 is set to take place in Mumbai on May 17. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus 6 and revealed some of the key features that the upcoming flagship phone will pack like — iPhone X-like notch, Snapdragon 845, dual rear cameras and more. OnePlus on Monday, posted a short video clip highlighting that the OnePlus 6 will be able to capture Super Slo-Mo videos. In addition, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan also shared a picture of the OnePlus 6, showing the phone in black and white colours on Twitter, however, the tweet was later taken down.
The super slow-motion video capture ability for the OnePlus 6 was also teased by the company last month. The teaser poster was spotted on the official OnePlus India website with the tagline «Live Life in Super Slo-Mo». The poster clearly revealed that the upcoming OnePlus 6 will come with the ability to capture super slo mo videos. However, the teaser back then was posted mistakenly by OnePlus and was later removed.
With just a couple of days to go for the launch, OnePlus has now officially confirmed that OnePlus 6 will come with the ability to record Super Slo-Mo videos via a new video teaser. The new video that was posted on Twitter by OnePlus shows several slow-motion video clips which are followed by the tagline «Shot on OnePlus 6».
OnePlus 6 is definitely trying to take on the likes of the Galaxy S9 and Sony Xperia XZ2 by supporting 960fps super slow motion video recording. OnePlus is yet to reveal the frame rate, though.
In another tweet, the OnePlus 6 was revealed in two colour variants — White and Black. Interestingly, the picture of the phone was posted by Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan. It is worth noting that the tweet posted by Bachchan was later removed. The picture included two OnePlus 6, one in black and another one in White. The picture clearly showed the vertically aligned dual rear camera setup, followed by the fingerprint sensor which sits in a rectangular housing.
Ahead of the OnePus 6 launch on May 17 at Mumbai OnePlus announced that fans too can be part of the launch event. OnePlus is giving away tickets for the OnePlus 6 launch event. Interested people can purchase the tickets via https://www.oneplus.in/launch-6 starting from today, 10 AM.
OnePlus 6 will be available exclusively on Amazon India store when it launched on May 17. The phone is already listed for «Notify me» option on the e-commerce store. Ahead of the launch, OnePlus has already confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will be a fast phone as it will be powered by Snapdragon 845. Other specs that we can expect the OnePlus 6 to include are — 6-inch Full-HD+ display with a tall 19:9 aspect ratio, OxygenOS based on Android Oreo, Face Unlock, new and updated Dash charging, water resistance and a 3.5mm headphone jack, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The company has also confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will come with iPhone X-like notch, however, the company CEO said that the users will be able to hide the notch if they don’t like it.
