A woman walking along the freeway died overnight after she was hit by a car.
Just before midnight on Saturday, the woman — who police did not immediately identify — was walking on Katy Freeway near Heights, according to authorities. It’s not clear whether she was just walking along the edge of the freeway or trying to cross it.
A driver who didn’t see her crashed into her with his car, and she died at the scene.
The driver was not intoxicated and is not expected to face charges, authorities said.
The crash shut down the inbound side of the freeway for hours as police investigated and fire crews cleaned up the road.
