After being teased a couple of months ago, SEGA has finally announced Team Sonic Racing. Like the previous Sonic & All-Stars racing games, this one is also being developed by Sumo Digital.
Team Sonic Racing will feature both online and offline multiplayer, pitting you and your friends against each other in groups. Teams will be comprised of three players—with up to 12 players per race—and can assist their teammates while taking out their opponents. The game will feature 15 playable characters and different car customization options.
Its predecessor Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is already backward compatible on Xbox One. If you aren’t familiar with the series, All-Stars Racing Transformed would be a great way to jump in without shelling out top dollar for a new game.
SEGA plans to release Team Sonic Racing this winter for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Expect to hear more information within the coming weeks as E3 2018 is quickly approaching.
