BlackBerry is all set to launch its KEY2 Lite at the upcoming IFA 2018 event in Berlin, Germany, as confirmed by noted tipster Evan Blass. The phone is expected to be a lighter version of BlackBerry KEY2 that was launched last month. Now, the company is prepping to announce the KEY2 Lite, and it could come with the same QWERTY keypad buttons and a 4.5-inch display.
According to Blass, the KEY2 Lite will have a plastic body, and it will be available in Red, Blue, and Copper colour options. He was quick to add that “Seeing how BlackBerry treated its Black and Bronze variants of the KEYone, the KEY2 Lite is likely to have the new colours both on the rim and the front surrounding the display and QWERTY keyboard.”
Presumably, the KEY2 Lite will see a downgrade in specs, but it is said to be of the same size as the regular BlackBerry KEY2. The alleged render shows the phone upside down. The rear-panel seems to have a textured back with red-colour accentuated on the sides. Taking a closer look at the phone’s border, one can point out the Convenience key still placed on the right just below the Volume and Power buttons.
Having said that, the BlackBerry KEY2 Lite’s specifications are as much of a mystery as the launch event. We will try to bring more updates as soon as there are any, so stay tuned.
