Frictional Games is releasing Amnesia: Collection on Xbox One next week including The Dark Descent with the Justine expansion and its sequel A Machine For Pigs.
Amnesia: Collection is officially coming out for the Xbox One next week. In a somewhat unexpected, but very much appreciated announcement, the cult horror series will finally make its way over to Microsoft’s home console much sooner than expected.
The Amnesia series has been strangely missing from Xbox One since the collection’s release a couple years back. Considering the game’s popularity in the survival horror genre, it only seems natural that the game would release on Xbox One eventually, despite Frictional Games being fairly silent as to when it would happen.
Amnesia: Collection will be available for download on August 31st on the Xbox Marketplace. The collection will feature two separate games from the series including the original Amnesia: The Dark Descent along with its Justine expansion. An indirect sequel with an all new setting and characters called A Machine For Pigs is also included in the collection.
No word has been said as to whether or not the games will be updated in any sort of way for the Xbox One X. The price point of the trilogy has also not been listed, but it can probably be expected to cost $29.99, similar to the game’s price on PlayStation.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent first released back in 2010 for PC and it was followed by 2013’s A Machine For Pigs. It wasn’t until 2016 that the games were brought over to PlayStation 4 in Amnesia: Collection. Even though it took Frictional Games quite a while to bring the game over to Microsoft’s system, Xbox One owners will finally get a taste of the survival horror series that has gained so much notoriety in recent years, especially within the “Let’s Play” community.
Amnesia: Collection‘s upcoming release next week feels like the perfect time for Xbox One owners to indulge in the cult survival horror game as we approach the Fall season. While it is somewhat baffling as to why it took this long to make its way over to Xbox, the game’s announcement is a welcome surprise considering Frictional Games’ silence as to when the game was being released.
Amnesia: Collection is currently available for PC and PlayStation 4. The game will be available for Xbox One on August 31,2018.
