Apple is not just rumoured to launch the three iPhone models later this year but it also could revamp the Mac line up with two new devices at least. The launch could take place after the iPhone announcement, something which is expected from the Cupertino-based tech firm. While the first device will be the 2018 version of MacBook, the second is being said to be an upgraded Mac Mini.
The new MacBook model will share almost the same design profile as the 2015 MacBook Air, which last year got a minor processor upgrade, says Bloomberg. However, what will be new is that the laptop will have thinner bezels around the screen. The screen size will however, stay at 13-inches but will sport a high-resolution ‘Retina’ panel that has been used in all the recent MacBook Pro models.
Although guessing the price is a long shot for now, what the report indicates is that the ‘new’ MacBook Air will be focused on those hunting for cheaper Mac laptops, probably for students. Two of Apple MacBook manufacturers Quanta Computer and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. are likely to manufacture the upcoming MacBook as well, adds the report.
As for the Mac Mini, Apple is said to give an upgrade to the device after nearly four years. With the new version the firm might be focussing on professionals as it did when the current version model was launched. The new Mac Mini will probably have new storage and processor options. Also, this rumoured computing machine will be pricier than the current model.
We are yet to see what Apple has in store for customers for later this year.
The firm has already revamped its iPad lineup and the MacBook Pro series earlier this year. However, few reports indicate that an upgrade to 12-inch and 10.5-inch ‘iPad Pro’ versions will be there later this year alongside three iPhones and the aforementioned MacBook Air and Mac Mini.
