KALAMAZOO, MI — A 26-year-old Kalamazoo man was shot in the leg late Friday when he was robbed of his car.
Kalamazoo police say the man is expected to survive the gunshot wound to his lower leg.
The incident was reported around 10:40 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, in the 1400 block of Charles Street.
The victim told officers his car was stolen at gunpoint. During the confrontation, he was shot in the leg, according to a Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety press release.
Officers found the vehicle a few blocks away. No one was inside.
Police believe there are several suspects involved. One of them is a teen male, police say.
