Today Microsoft decided to mirror the robot white color of the Xbox One S by offering both the Xbox One X and the Xbox Elite Controller in the same finish, while Turtle Beach complements them with a headset. Unfortunately, this isn’t the second-generation Elite controller.
If you like the white finish of the Xbox One S, but want the performance of the Xbox One X sitting under your 4K TV, then we have some good news for you. Microsoft decided to offer the Xbox One X in the same robot white color. It gets better, though, as there’s also an Xbox Elite controller to match.
Clearly the color scheme of the Xbox One S has proved popular, otherwise why would Microsoft go to the trouble of copying it for the more expensive Xbox One X?
As Xbox Wire reports, you can purchase the robot white Xbox One X on Nov. 14, but availability is limited. If you want one, expect to place a pre-order with GameStop or at a Microsoft Store. Also, expect to spend $499.99 to get one. As an added bonus the new One X comes bundled with Bethesda’s Fallout 76, so you’ll have something to play out the box.
As the video above shows, Microsoft also announced a new Xbox Elite controller. Unfortunately, this isn’t the second-generation Elite many gamers have been waiting for. Instead, it’s the existing first-gen Elite in the same robot white color. For anyone who needs everything to match and wants a performance controller in their hands, this is a good day!
The Elite controller is highly customizable, offering swappable components including Hair Trigger Locks, thumbstick, D-pad, and paddle options, as well as a rubberized diamond grip. According to The Verge, it does not include Bluetooth connectivity, so no connecting to Windows 10 wirelessly it seems. You’re also going to have to save up to afford one. Microsoft wants $149.99 for the Elite.
To round things off, you can also get a white gaming headset to match the new Xbox One X and Elite controller. It’s being introduced by Turtle Beach and is called the (deep breath) Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp Pro Performance Gaming Audio System for Xbox One. It combines a headset with a «one-dial gaming audio controller» and a mobile app allowing for a high level of audio customization. It will cost $249 and is expected tol be available from Sept. 16.
