CLYDE TWP, MI — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of an off-duty Port Huron Police Department lieutenant.
The shooting occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, at an apartment building on Atkins Road near Interstate 69 and Wadhams Road in St. Clair County’s Clyde Township.
Police have said two people were shot inside an apartment. A neighbor came to help and exchanged gunfire with the suspect, only to be shot as well.
Police located and arrested the suspect at a Southfield gas station.
One of the wounded parties is an administrative clerk with an area department and is the suspect’s ex, police have said.
