All My Friends music festival made its debut in downtown L. A. Aug. 18-19.
The edge of the Arts District in downtown L. A. was the place to get down this weekend as L. A. native and electronic dance music heavyweight Gary Richards brought his inaugural two-day All My Friends music festival to the industrial neighborhood.
The hip-hop, dance and R&B-focused festival included about three dozen acts performing on three stages with top names such as RL Grime, Gucci Mane, Jhene Aiko, M. I. A., Jamie xx and Armand Van Helden on Saturday and Sunday.
About 10,000 people were expected each day.
Richards, who performs as Destructo, is well known in the EDM world for launching Hard Summer Music Festival, a mega dance event he founded more than a decade ago.
All My Friends is his first major event after leaving Hard.
