Xiaomi President also revealed that the Mi Mix 3 will be launching in October, however, he didn’t reveal the exact timeline of the launch.
We have already heard a lot about Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship — the Mi Mix 3. Until now, everything heard about the Mi Mix 3 were rumours, unconfirmed by the company. But looks like, there’s some sort of confirmation coming from Xiaomi’s side now. Xiaomi President, Lin Bin took to the Chinese microblogging site — Weibo — on Thursday, to post a picture of the upcoming Mi Mix 3. The photo (see above) is clear enough to show the complete front panel design of the Mi Mix 3. There are no bezels. And interestingly, there the Oppo Find X-like camera slider. The Mi Mix 3 will be the first Xiaomi phone to come with camera slider. Bin has also revealed that the Mi Mix 3 is coming this October.
The image posted on Weibo shows only the front panel design of the Mi Mix 3. As already rumoured, the phone has minimal bezels on all sides, much thinner than the Mi Mix 2. The chin is also as thin as the top bezel. The Mi Mix 3 also boasts of a massive screen, looks like much bigger than the predecessor device — Mi Mix 2 — which comes with a 5.99-inch display. To reduce the bezels, Xiaomi has incorporated Oppo Find X-like sliding selfie camera on the front. The camera slider can be seen in the image as well.
Although it isn’t very clear in the image but looks like the slider will include two selfie cameras. The image also shows that the slider will include the earpiece and some sensors. However, we are still not sure about the positioning of the earpiece, whether it will be on the slider or on the front bezel. If it is placed on the slider, it can definitely get slightly uncomfortable to use it everytime one needs to answer a call.
As said, the image doesn’t show the rear panel of the Mi Mix 3, so we don’t know if the back cameras are placed on the slider like the Oppo Find X or are on the glass rear panel. However, earlier renders had suggested that the Mi Mix 3 will come with dual rear cameras on the back which will be positioned in the middle of the top edge of the phone aligned in the vertical fashion.
Xiaomi President also revealed that the Mi Mix 3 will be launching in October, however, he didn’t reveal the exact timeline of the launch.
Some specs of the Mi Mix 3 have already been leaked. The phone is expected to come with a 16-megapixel primary camera on the rear panel and 12-megapixel secondary sensor. Under the hood, the Mi Mix 3 is likely to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Rumours also suggest that the Mi Mix 3 will come in two RAM models — 6GB and 8GB and one storage model — 256GB. In addition, the Mi Mix 3 is also tipped to come with IP68-certified for water and dust resistance, and run the latest Android Oreo-based MIUI.
