Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney dropped the hammer on Kelly Bryant after the former starting quarterback lashed out.
Bryant quit the team and will transfer after he was benched in favor of Trevor Lawrence, and he claimed he didn’t get a “fair shot” in the process. (RELATED: One Of The Best QBs In America Announces He’s Transferring. Here’s What We Know)

Swinney clear feels different and told the media Thursday, “This is not middle school. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions that are best for the team.”
Dabo Swinney on the ACC teleconference: “This is not middle school. Sometimes you have to make tough decisions that are best for the team.” Says its unfortunate but Kelly Bryant is entitled to his own opinion but says he “definitely” gave Kelly a fair shot. @wachfox

I couldn’t agree more. This isn’t school yard football. It’s major D1 athletics. The best players will play. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter if Bryant led them to the playoff last year. It doesn’t matter one bit. Right now, Lawrence is on the roster and he’s better. That’s why Bryant lost his starting job.
I’m not saying it’s an easy thing to stomach, but it’s true. Hopefully, Bryant is able to find playing time somewhere else, but let’s save the petty shots about getting a fair shot.
