The Best of Bond Car Pack will be Day One DLC for Forza Horizon 4.
Microsoft and Playground Games have confirmed that upcoming open world racer, Forza Horizon 4, has gone gold ahead of its release next month.
Exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, the latest game in the acclaimed racing series takes to the streets of Brexit Britain. And given how much we Brits like to talk about the weather, it’s appropriate that its headline feature is an environmental system that changes how the game looks and plays with each passing season.
A free demo is available now that gives players the chance sample the game’s mix of sun, rain, wind, and snow before release.
Also announced is the Best of Bond Car Pack. The day one drop is included in the Forza Horizon 4 Ultimate Edition, and will also be available to buy separately.
The pack includes a range of classic vehicles from the James Bond film series, including the Aston Marin DB5, the Lotus Esprit S1 from The Spy Who Loved Me, and, most importantly, the Citroën 2CV6 from For Your Eyes Only. Best of all, some of the cars will feature gadgets and gizmos taken from the films. The pack also includes two Bond costumes, and some exclusive multiplayer ‘Quick Chat’ phrases.
The standard edition of Forza Horizon 4 will be released on October 2,2018 for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC via Xbox Play Anywhere. The Ultimate Edition will be available four days earlier on September 28, and in addition to the Bond content also includes a Car Pass, VIP Membership, a Formula Drift Car Pack, and two additional game expansions.

Zen Studios brings three new Solo-themed pinball tables to Pinball FX3, Zen Pinball, and Star Wars Pinball.
Purveyors of pixel perfect pinball pastimes, Zen Studios, have released three new digital tables based on the film, Solo: A Star Wars Story .
The Star Wars Pinball: Solo Pack is available now for Pinball FX3 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. It can also be downloaded to the Zen Pinball and Star Wars Pinball apps on iOS and Android.
The first new table, simply titled Solo, features events from the film – yes, including the Kessel Run – and includes appearances from Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, and, erm, Beckett.
Lando is the star of the second table, Calrissian Chronicles, which takes players on a trip to Cloud City, the Sarlacc Pitt of Tatooine, and the Millennium Falcon cape closet.
Finally, Battle of Mimban is a grittier table that depicts Han Solo’s final mission for the Empire.
There’s no word on a release for the Nintendo Switch edition of Pinball FX3, but hopefully the new tables – along with Zen’s entire Star Wars range – will make an appearance before too long.
If you want to learn about the development of the new tables, head over to the official Star Wars website for an interview with designer Tom Crofts, and artist Mark Kovacs.

Video game book publisher Geeks Line is working on the definitive history of the Super Nintendo console.
We don’t often cover Kickstarter campaigns here at Thumbsticks. There are usually too many uncertainties for us to wholeheartedly endorse a project, however much we’re excited by it.
That said, the folks at Geeks Line – who are currently raising funds for the Super Nintendo Anthology – have a consistent track record of meeting their crowd funding goals, delivering their pledges, and producing high quality products to boot.
Indeed we have just received our copy of the recently released Nintendo GameCube Anthology, which had its own campaign last year. We’ll have a review for you soon, but at first glance the weighty tome looks just as well made and informative as the publisher’s PlayStation and Nintendo 64 anthologies.
The Super Nintendo Anthology will come as a two-part release, with one volume covering the console’s software library – complete with box art illustrations for every game – and a second looking at the hardware, its development, worldwide release, and impact on the games industry.
Together, both volumes will run to more than 600 pages, all of which are fully illustrated in colour.
Head over to the book’s Kickstarter campaign to find out more.
