Nintendo is opening up on Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. A new trailer has just been released that introduces new Pokemon Let’s Go Secret Techniques, and more!
Following the announcement of a special edition Pokemon Let’s Go Switch, Nintendo has rolled out a brand new trailer for the upcoming remake. The short-but-sweet trailer shows off an intriguing new aspect of the game: Pokemon Let’s Go Secret Techniques. Alongside the new techniques, partner-exclusive moves, Celadon City and a Gym Leader battle was shown.
As you can see in the trailer above, it seems as though each version of the game ( Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee) features secret techniques. The Pokemon Let’s Go secret techniques are abilities that your partner Pokemon can use outside of battle. What’s interesting, is that they appear to be replacing traditional HMs. The trailer shows Pikachu and Eevee chopping down trees, transporting the player to previously visited locations on a balloon construction, and even surfing.
Pikachu or Eevee exclusive Partner Powers are shown next. These look to be potentially replacing the Z-Moves of Pokemon Sun and Moon. A small handful of Partner Powers is shown off, including Pikachu’s Splishy Splash (which looks like Surf) and Eevee’s Sizzly Slide (a fire-based attack). What’s interesting, is that these powers don’t appear to be tied to either Pikachu’s or Eevee’s type. Splishy Splash, for example, appears to be a Water-type move, easily defeating an Onyx. Each partner Pokemon has its own exclusive Partner Powers, so choose wisely!
Aside from the new Secret Techniques and Partner Powers, we are also given a good look at Celadon City. It’s vibrant, large, and looks a grand place to explore. It appears too, as though the gambling mini-games of the original are back in Let’s Go. We also get our first look at Erika (the Grass-type Gym leader of Pokemon Red and Blue.
Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee are both due to launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch on November 16 2018.
