On September 1, global electronic music star Martin Garrix headlined the second day of the Electric Zoo festival in New York at Randall’s Island Park.
The Dutch DJ and producer began his Electric Zoo set with the catchy «Forever,» and it was followed by a mash-up of «In The Name Of Love» and «Virus.»
His fans and listeners erupted during his live rendition of «Animals,» and other noteworthy tracks included «Ocean,» where he collaborates with Khalid, as well as «Like I Do» and «So Far Away.» One of the most popular remixes was his taken of The Weeknd’s «Can’t Feel My Face,» where the audience really got into it.
«In The Name of Love,» his collaboration with Bebe Rexha and the remix of the tune, garnered a raucous response from the fans. Equally fun was «Scared To Be Lonely,» his international hit with Dua Lipa. Garrix closed his set with «High On Life,» which newest collaboration with Bonn.
The Verdict
Overall, Martin Garrix delivered at «Electric Zoo: The Big 10.» He proved that his two consecutive wins (2016 and 2017) for «World’s Best DJ» in DJ Magazine were based on merit. Garrix commanded the stage the entire time, and his set garnered an A rating.
