Now that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has launched and players are trying out Blackout, here is a guide to the best perks to get for the battle royale mode.
Now that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has officially launched, many are playing its battle royale mode Blackout for the first time. Per usual, a player’s first need when beginning a battle royale match is to weapon up and prepare for battle. In Blackout, players have a number of perks they can use, which grant short boosts to certain stats that are basically abilities. Of course, some Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 perks are better than others, so we’ve compiled this guide of the best perks to get in the battle royale mode.
Considering Treyarch’s title was ranked one of the most anticipated games for the holiday season, it’s not surprising to see those excitedly making the move to Blackout. So without further ado, here are the perks we recommend grabbing as fast as possible.
Awareness – This ability enables players to hear others at greater distances. As the circle closes, it becomes particularly more useful, as it will essentially allow players to hear all movement within the circle.
Consumer – Granting what amounts to a second wind, this ability can be a lifesaver. It quickly restores health and can even be triggered in the middle of a firefight.
Dead Silence – To counter opponents with the Awareness perk, this perk allows players to move and open stashes silently. This perk is particularly useful when trying to sneak up on another player across the massive map.
Engineer – This perk reveals nearby vehicles and enemy equipment, simultaneously giving players the best chance to see a way out without dying. It is viable early or late game.
Looter – This is an excellent early game perk, as it allows the player to see nearby items and caches. It can save a lot of time, as well as speed up the process of getting a weapon and preparing for a firefight.
Mobility – In a firefight, the type of weapon and speed are always key. This perk comes with a number of uses that include moving and swapping weapons faster, taking no fall damage, firing weapons while spring, and reloading weapons faster. This perk can be the difference between victory and loss in an all out firefight (which could potentially go up to 115 players).
Outlander – For players whose primary tactic is to skirt the circle, this perk is a must-have. Essentially, it decreases the amount of damage players take from the enclosing circle, while increasing movement speed while taking damage from it.
Blackout has a number of other perks available, though not all are as viable. These perks include the following: Brawler (increased melee damage), Paranoia (reveals when targeted), Medic (heal and revive faster), Reinforced (essentially Flak Jacket), Skulker (move fast when crouched/prone), Squad Link (see teammates through walls), Stimulant (increase HP), Iron Lungs (more time when sniping or diving), and Recon Car (a remote-controlled car).
With these aforementioned perks and the right weapon build, it shouldn’t be too difficult for seasoned battle royale players to win their first match in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4‘s Blackout mode. Hopefully, this guide will also help the less-experienced players even the playing field in what appears to be an outstanding battle royale experience. Tell us, Ranters, what do you think of this battle royale mode so far?
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
