Bill and Hillary Clinton book Fox Theatre event
The Billary show is coming to Detroit. Former President Bill Clinton and former first lady, U. S. Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton will speak at Detroit’s Fox Theatre on April 12 as part of the pair’s 13-city North American tour, promoters announced on Monday. Billed as “An Evening with President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton,» the show will see them sharing stories from their lives and political experiences. Tickets for the Fox Theatre show start at $99.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster. The Clintons last visited Detroit in August to attend the funeral of Aretha Franklin. The trek follows another upcoming tour from a prominent political figure, this fall’s Michelle Obama arena outing, which hits Little Caesars Arena on Dec. 11.
Chris Cornell statue unveiled at Seattle museum
A statue and tribute to late rocker Chris Cornell was placed at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle on Sunday. His wife, Vicky Cornell, and the couple’s children were on hand for the public unveiling, which was followed by a screening of a Soundgarden performance at the Wiltern theater. Sculpted by artist Nick Marra, the life-size bronze statue was commissioned by Vicky Cornell, who donated it to the museum. Members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam were also in attendance. Cornell died by suicide at age 52 in May 2017 at the MGM Grand Detroit after a concert at the Fox Theatre.
