“The View” co-hosts clashed over their thoughts on Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) releasing DNA test results showing that a small fraction of her background is of Native American heritage.
Warren has faced a lot of criticism as she has claimed to be of Native American heritage when really, it’s a very small relation — co-host Abby Huntsman called it “pretty embarrassing for her.”
Co-host Whoopi Goldberg opened up about President Donald Trump saying previously that if Warren took the DNA test, he’d donate $1 million to her favorite charity, however, Goldberg sides with Warren saying to give her the money — leaving out the fact that the results showed Warren is 1/1,024 Native American.

Co-host Sunny Hostin then reflected Goldberg and said, “I hate that she took the DNA test because he taunted her because he called her ‘Pocahontas.’”
Huntsman then spoke about Warren’s education:
“I think of her as a smart woman and not getting into petty politics, and that’s exactly what this is, so I found this to be pretty embarrassing for her. I think the majority of this room right here is probably more native American than Elizabeth Warren is.”
Goldberg then interjected when Huntsman mentioned the Cherokee Nation rebuked Warren’s DNA test saying the senator was “ undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage” — Goldberg said that Warren didn’t want to be part of the tribe.
Guest co-host Meghan McCain listed times that Warren listed herself as a minority in the American Association of Law Schools, Harvard Law School, and contributed to a recipe tribal book.
«[WARREN] even submitted recipes to a Native American cookbook called “Pow Wow Chow,” published in 1984 by the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee, Okla. She signed her entries “Elizabeth Warren — Cherokee.” https://t.co/wXGTWoNKPs

“The View” co-hosts also pointed out that former President Barack Obama’s 2012 campaign manager Jim Messina also condemned Warren for releasing the DNA data just before the midterm elections, tweeting, “Why can’t Dems ever stay focused???”
